Annie P. Womack was born September 30, 1947 in Halifax County,
Virginia to the late Herman and Thelma Womack. She departed this life
on September 19,2018 after a short illness.
Annie began her education in the Halifax County Public Schools. She
moved with her parents to Maryland at an early age where she continued
her education in the Baltimore City Public School System. She obtained
her diploma from Edmondson High School in 1966. Following high
school, she continued her education at Strayer Business School receiving
her certificate as a medical secretary.
Annie worked for many years for several area hospitals as an Admission IS
Officer. Her employment included the former Maryland General Hospi-
tal, Bon Secours Hospital and the Howard County General Hospital. For
a short time, she worked as a greeter at the Vaughn Green Funeral Home.
At an early age, Annie gave her life to Christ and joined Friendship
Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. William McCoy. She re-
mained a member of Friendship until the church relocated to northeast
Baltimore. In April of 1999, she joined The Village Baptist Church under
the leadership of Rev. Zollie Bagby, Sr. where she remained until her
death. She served faithfully on the Ushers Ministry, which she enjoyed.
Annie had a passion for shopping and planned many trips with her mom
to English Town. She was a bargain shopper and was not concerned
about expensive high-priced brand names. She loved her high heels and
very stylish clothing. Annie also loved listening to and dancing to music
of the sixties but in her quiet times, she could be found reading a book or
magazine .
Annie leaves to cherish her loving memory: mother, Thelma Womack; two
brothers, William T Womack and Robert E. Womack (Adrena) of Balti-
more, MD; three nieces, Rita Womack of Halifax, VA, Beatrice Womack
and Amber Womack of Baltimore; two nephews, Earl Womack (Sharnell)
of Orlando, FL and Sean Womack (Shannon) of Holly Springs, NC, great
nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preced-
ed in death by her father, Herman Womack and brother, James Womack.
