Anthony William “Tony” Arena, 64, of De Soto, Texas, a U.S. Armed Forces veteran of the Korean War, and a retired employee of the U.S. Post Office, passed away unexpectedly at Baylor Medical Center, Grapevine, Texas, following emergency surgery for an aneurysm, on Tuesday, August 8, 2000. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 11, 2000, 6-8 p.m., at West/Hurtt Funeral Home, 217 South Hampton Road, De Soto. Services are scheduled for Saturday, August 12, at 11 a.m., officiated by the Rev. Tim Gollob. Interment will follow at Rhodes Cemetery, De Soto.

He was Papaw to his grandchildren, daddy to his children and Tony to his wife and friends. He was a wonderful person who will be missed dearly by all. Although we were not rich growing up, we never went without. There were times he worked three jobs to provide for his family. My grandfather will always be missed and loved. The ones who knew him loved him and will always love him.I know he will always look down on me knowing that he did and will continue to changed the lives of others. I will always appreciate all the things he did he did for me and i will always remember him and love him.
