A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Dr. Anthony A. Cacioppo, 69, a resident of Davenport, will be 9 a.m. on Friday, November 30, 2007, in Lyceum Hall located on the campus of Palmer College of Chiropractic, 115 W. 7th Street, Davenport. Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Dr. Cacioppo died Friday, November 9, 2007, at Genesis Medical Center, East Rusholme Street, Davenport.
Anthony Albert Cacioppo was born July 8, 1938, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the son of Albert and Catherine (DiBella) Cacioppo. He served our country as a Captain in the Army during the Vietnam War. Tony was united in marriage to Eileen Allen on July 31, 1970, in Colorado Springs, Colo.
"Dr C" graduated from Palmer School of Chiropractic in 1960. He earned his Masters in Science in Health Services Administration from the University of St. Francis, Joliet, Ill. Dr. Cacioppo began teaching at Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1983. Although he was involved in private practice, he was dedicated to teaching, and his enthusiasm was contagious. This past year he was awarded a Fellow in the Palmer Academy of Chiropractic. Tony was a Diplomate of the American Board of Chiropractic Orthopedist, and a Diplomate of the International Board of Chiropractic Neurology. In his free time, Tony enjoyed fine dining, traveling and boating.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Eileen, Davenport; sisters, Marguerite Cacioppo, Fort Dodge, Phyllis (Mrs. William) Shannon, Fort Dodge and Virginia (Mrs. Michael) Cupp, Rockford, Ill.; sister-in-law, Eloise Kay (Mrs. Loren) Kober, West Branch, Iowa; numerous nieces and nephews; and his wide Palmer family.
