Dr. Caputi was born on October 21, 1929 and passed away on Monday, April 23, 2018. Dr. Caputi was a resident of Newport, Rhode Island at the time of passing. Anthony graduated from Rogers High School in 1947 and later attended Providence College while ultimately earning his BA from the University of Vermont. After dental school, he joined the Army as a captain and further honed his exceptional professional skills for two years in the Armed Forces before returning to Newport to establish his general dentistry practice that enjoyed the loyalty of patients spanning multiple generations from the local area for almost a half century. His funeral will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 9:00 am, from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am, in St. Joseph's Church, Broadway and Mann Avenue, Newport. Committal Prayers will follow in the Chapel at St. Columba Cemetery, Middletown Calling hours will be held on Friday, from 4-8 pm in the funeral home. Dr. Caputi was humbled to receive a citation from the Rhode Island legislature for his contributions to the people of Rhode Island and the dental profession.
I was so honored to know Dr. Caputi during my time working at St. Joseph's. He would bring so much laughter to every shift, and I truly appreciated his company. I loved him dearly. He was a truly wonderful man and I'll miss my conversations with him.

I knew Dr. Caputi many years ago when I worked for the RIDA. He was, indeed, a kind and generous man with a great sense of humor. My sincere condolences to his family on the loss of this honorable man.
