As a new Children's Services caseworker many years ago, the first law guardian I met was Judge Cardona (then affectionately known as Tony Cardona). We shared many cases throughout the years. He served each with compassion, honesty and integrity, and with a dose of reality as well. As he moved on, and became a Judge, he never forgot those cases we shared, and whenever our paths crossed, he always made a point of stopping to reminisce, and to ask how I was doing.
