I was in awe of the way he played.

Ellen - I felt a lot of different emontions - where have all the years gone - you growing up in Rochelle Park - you Dad working for IBM - your wedding to Tony - now the lost of your love ones - it really hurts - life is not fair - Ellen it is time to take care of "Ellen" - I know - it is the only way to survive -

I first met Tony in around 1968, at some HighSchool event or another.
We didn't hang in those days, but when we met professionaly in the late 90's we had the pleasant surprise of recognising each other after 30 years , we enjoyed that together. He and I would drive to jobs now and then, talking about things, have a few laughs, do the gig, wave the swing flag and drive home. He always would say,
" Watsky, theres gonna be more."
You know, more gigs , more good times,...

Tony was a terrific guy and he always could swing hard. I know I'll be seeing you on the bandstand again my friend. You'll be missed. My deepest sympathies to Ellen and his family.

I really never spent anytime with Tony, but I did
meet him a few times in and around the drum shops of NY. He was a sweet guy, and I could sense that he was one of the good players. Finally, I heard Tony on a recording, and was gratified that my
instinct was right. God bless him and us all.

"Where ever you are I'll find you'

Tony was my first private drum teacher beginning in February of 1973 and continuing through the better part of 1976. He was truly an inspiration to me then, as well as now. Although approximately 30 years have past since we last spoke, I think of him often when I start out a new student on the drums. My sincere condolences go out to his family at this very difficult time of their lives. May God be with you all.

For a dear friend and musical inspiration to all who were privileged to have him in their lives. I am going to miss him.

Tony & I played quite a number iof gigs together in the 80's in NJ. We always had a lot of laughs and enjoyed many fun times together.

My respects go out to Tony's family in this difficult time.

Regards,
Jack Graham
