Reflecting on this outstanding man, a true role model, I recall our meeting during my time at Cathedral Grammar School, where I was clearly one of "those with fewest resources." I knew Fr. Creane while attending CHS in the '60s. Everyone looked up to him as an positive male role model. His smile was infectious and I can still figuratively hear him laughing in the hallways while interacting with students. I lost track of him until he was assigned to St. Mary's in Westfield.
