Anthony "Butch" Crivello passed away peacefully at John Muir Hospital in Concord after a long, fierce battle with cancer with friends and family at his side.
A native of Pittsburg, He graduated from St. Peter Martyr School and Pittsburg High School class of 1961. He earned a degree in Fire Science from Los Medanos College. He worked as a certified outboard motor mechanic after high school and was an operator for Shell Oil prior to joining the fire service. He worked as a Fireman in Pittsburg and Antioch for 14 years. Later he worked in hardware and plumbing Customer Service for over 30 years retiring from General Plumbing of Walnut Creek in 2011.
He loved animals especially his cats. He enjoyed football, baseball and boating and many friendships. He was a member of the Elks, Moose Lodge and Pittsburg Yacht Club. He enjoyed preparing meals at the firehouse, Elks Lodge, Yacht Club and family holiday dinners.
Preceded in death by his father John A. Crivello, mother Hope Gent, and his companion of 8 years Lynn Humphrey (Peterson). He is survived by his son John A. Crivello (Audrey) of Visalia, grandchildren John R. Crivello of Oakland, Alyssa Crivello of Denver CO, and Kyle Crivello of Visalia. Brothers Andy Crivello (Sally Simser) of Antioch, John S. Crivello (Mary) of Valley Springs; sisters Josephine Marks (John) of Antioch, Rose Ann Rose (Dr. Arnie Spanjers M.D.) of Dublin and nephew/godson Dr. Michael J. Marks, PhD, Las Cruces NM.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Elks Lodge in Pittsburg on December 14, 2013 at 1030 AM. Donations may be made to the Friends of Animal Services in Antioch, or simply just drop off a bag of dog or cat food at your local shelter. Private burial at Holy Cross Cemetery will occur at a later date.

Andy and family, I am sorry to hear of the passing of Butch. I remember sitting and talking with him at Silver Knight and the Pittsburg Yacht Club, we had a lot of fun. God Bless you Andy, your family and may Butch rest in peace pain free forever more. Butch "Tell my mother Patty I said Hi and I love her".
