SHELTON: Anthony DeMarchis, 79, of Shelton, went home to the Lord, on Saturday, April 14, 2012, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA. He was the beloved husband of Josephine Gruttadauria DeMarchis.
Mr. DeMarchis was born in Priverno, Italy on March 22, 1922, son of the late Ernesto and Giacinta Carfagna DeMarchis. Anthony was a mason with B.A.C. Union, a contractor, and a residential developer. Tony was known as the "Honest Builder", who took pride in all that he did as President of Friendly Construction, A.J. & D. Inc., and Sun Meadow Construction. He will be sadly missed by all for the amazing man he is and the legacy he leaves behind.
In addition to his wife Josephine, he is survived by a son, Joseph DeMarchis of Shelton, three daughters, Christine Martinello of GA, Ave Maria St. John of FL, and Joy DeMarchis of Shelton, five grandchildren, Luke, Karalena , David, Tina Rose, and Steven, and several nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by a daughter, Carlene Hubbard-St. John and a brother, Sergio DeMarchis.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Friday April 20, 2012, at 9:15 am from the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. Interment will be private. Visiting hours will be held on THURSDAY from 4-7 pm. It's been an honor to know Tony for just a short while but what an awesome and humble man he was. Full of joy in his suffering and gave strenght to others who needed the most and that was me.
