A few years back I posted on FB the video of Mr. Gianunzio finally getting that chance to walk out and pitch at the Cubs game..brings tears of joy to my eyes every single time. So very thankful for his service to our great country & to our future..the kids that he taught in school. My deepest condolences to his family and friends for their loss. I truly believe he is up there sharing a drink with Harry, and throwing the ball around with the Cubbies that have made it to home plate.

Mr Tony Gianunzio, was an awesome teacher, and will most certainly be missed by all who knew him. Back in our days at Portage High School it was a jammin' school and so much fun to learn by teachers like like Mr. Gianunzio My condolences go out to his family. God bless you all.

I met him years ago when I was Married to Doug G. I thought I was seeing Romeo again.

Sonja I am so very sorry for your loss! My heart goes out to your mom! I hope that she will cherish the love they had for on another! God will over see the rest!

a young, dashing Tony

I didn't know Tony. But by the sounds of it, I wish I had run into him at KVCC, as I'm an instructor there. I so much enjoyed the story written by his former student, Lewis. What a testament that demonstrated to the success of his teaching career. A great, great story. Thank you for sharing it with those willing to take the time to read it.

To Mr.Gianunzio's Family, sorry for your lose. What memories we have from Portage High School. Thinking he did not miss one of our Class Reunions, he was always with us. Always a smile and wanting to talk with all. He always had so much to offer to us, as a teacher and friend. He had so many great accomplishments during his life span. We were looking for him to be with us in September for our 60th Reunion. Thanks for being one of our Mentors.
