Anthony Joseph LoSchiavo, 91, of Wethersfield, beloved husband of Gira (Arserio) LoSchiavo for 63 years, passed away on October 5, 2016. Born in Waterbury on October 7, 1924, he was the son of the late Arthur and Anna (D'Angelo) LoSchiavo. Mr. Anthony J. LoSchiavo spent his early years in the U.S. Navy serving in the Pacific Theater, and then attended the Randall Art School in Hartford. He subsequently spent many years in the restaurant business, from which he retired in 1989. Since then, he has resumed his art studies at Central Connecticut State University where he studied anatomy, figure drawing and sketching. He is a past member of Glastonbury Art League, the North Shore Art Association of Gloucester, Massachusetts, as well as Newington and Wethersfield Art Leagues. He enjoyed painting landscapes, and seascapes including renditions of Great Diamond Island cottages, and a variety of island views from Casco Bay in Maine. Mr. LoSchiavo was also involved in the restoration of works of art, including oil paintings and frames. He will be remembered as an amazing man who will be missed by all who knew him. Anthony is survived by his sons Martin LoSchiavo and his wife Donna of Rocky Hill, Michael LoSchiavo of Stuart, FL, and his daughter Patricia McAndrew and husband Mark of Wethersfield. He leaves his four grandchildren, Ashley and Amanda McAndrew, Cara and Anthony LoSchiavo, as well as fourteen wonderful nieces and nephews. He also leaves his loving sister-in-law Maria and her husband Michael Valente of as well as his sisters Geraldine Cannarella, Ann Nolan and Raffalina Leone. Anthony was predeceased by his two brothers Gustave and Arthur LoSchiavo. A special thank you to Hartford Hospice Healthcare and all of the caregivers. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 8, 11:00 a.m., at the Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield. My Dad, Frank D'Alessandro, who passed away in May of 2012, grew up with Tony, and considered him one of his closest friends. My husband, Bill, my sister Lauren, & I, saw your Dad many times over the years, including our wedding. It was so cool to witness the amazing friendship Tony & my Dad shared.
