Charlene, I wanted to sign the guestbook immediately after reading your lovely tribute to Tony, but John said he'd pen a handwritten note. Since that hasn't happened yet, I'm writing for both of us and want you to know that we are saddened by your loss. John and Penn Curran... remember us from around the corner on 80th St.?

Civilization is just a slow process of the world learning to be kind. The world lost a dignified and civilized man uponTony Marshall's death. I will truly miss him and have been enriched by knowing him

Ambassadorials required some smarts.
Tony Awards for Tony twice,
Then trouble that was not so nice.
