Tony was more than a cousin to me. Throughout my youth, he was one of my best friends. We did almost everything together. We played pool, and golfed, went fishing and played every board game under the sun. We went to AkSarBen with our dads and hung out in the Junior Jockey Club, where we yelled picks across the paddock so our dad´s could place bets for us, and we heckled the jocks we didn´t like when they rode in. My cousin Ed Mickells and I used to hang around with Tony growing up in South Omaha. Tony was a huge Notre Dame football fan and always looked forward to the Notre Dame vs USC Trojans game each year.
