Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. - Schnecksville Obituary

In Loving Memory of Anthony:

Our beloved son, Anthony, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 7th, surrounded by love. But more than anything, we want to share how he lived.

Anthony was strong in ways many don’t typically associate with strength. His strength wasn’t loud or conventional—it was quiet, magnetic, and deeply human. He had a gift for pulling people closer. His need for support was not a weakness, but an invitation—an opening for others to give of themselves and to be changed by the connection.

His smile was contagious, his spirit adventurous. Anthony was always ready to go—on a day trip to the beach, a weekend in Pittsburgh to visit family, or a car ride to nowhere in particular. He loved motion in all forms—spinning wheels, swinging pendant lights, amusement park rides, musical toys, the chaos of a volleyball game. His world was vibrant, and he brought us into it with wonder.

Every day, he found something to get into. He crawled through our home with curiosity, pausing to examine something—or someone. He made intentional eye contact, pulled himself forward with determination, and found his way to the next person he wanted to hug or connect with. His presence was pure. There was never a mask, never a role—he was always, unapologetically, himself.

Anthony had his own language. Spoken words weren’t necessary. When he was happy, he clapped and rubbed his hands together—a motion a friend once described as “starting the fire.” If he wanted more of something—more light swinging, more music, more joy—he would reach out with an outstretched arm. And we understood. He always found a way to be heard.

To be part of Anthony’s world was a gift. He welcomed those who were willing to meet him where he was—face to face, with a big smile and a bigger heart. He was forever grateful for the ones who got close, who gave themselves fully. And he gave back—his love was unfiltered and deep.

In addition to his parents, Anthony’s impact on his siblings, Gina and Dominic, was profound. He was both a student and a teacher, becoming stronger because of—and helping to strengthen—the body and spirit of each of them. Responsibilities for Anthony shaped each of their paths in life.

For many, your first friends are your cousins. It was no different for Anthony. His cousins Matthew, Christopher, Nicole, Dominique, Abby Jo, and Emma each had their own special relationship with him.

Anthony was supported throughout his life by extraordinary people and organizations, including Lehigh Valley Hospital NICU, Good Shepherd Rehabilitation, VIA, Mercy School for Special Learning, Community Services Group, IU #21, The ARC of Lehigh and Northampton Counties, The Miracle League of the Lehigh Valley, and Bayada Nursing. We remember Ruth from LVH, Vicki and Jennifer from Bayada, and Vicki and Mary from Mercy School. His favorite companion, our Jack Russell—Meg—was always by his side as his protector. And to Tiffany, Jackie, Kristin, Julia, Sammy, Kris, Alyssa, and Chloe—young women who helped care for him and shared how deeply he shaped their lives—we are forever thankful.

We’re not planning a service at this time.

We are at the beginning of a new journey. The hole in our hearts will never be filled. But we carry deep gratitude—for the privilege of being Anthony’s parents, and for the way he shaped the very core of who we are. He lived with joy, with honesty, and with an unshakable connection to those around him.

He was loved. And he loved back—tenfold.

Jack, Leslie, Gina and the rest of the family, please accept my deepest sympathies in the loss of Anthony. I know he had a lot of things going against him health wise but so much going for him with the love of his family and friends at MLLV. I loved having Anthony on my team especially since he worked so hard when he could walk all the bases. You could tell he felt a sense of accomplishment as the crowd roared. Having coached at MLLV for nearly 19 yrs, Anthony was one of my favorites and...
