He was a good friend for most of my youth as we used to go to his pizza parlor on Circle Drive (by the bowling alley) and I continued to go to his restaraunt when he moved up to the mall of the bluffs and I used to take dates there for dinner. I remember listening to his stories from his days in the military during WW II.
