Tony was an old friend. I had known him for over a quarter century. I had first met him at the lunch volleyball game at Univ Illinois UC. He was larger than life, spoke his mind honestly, and was very nice. What does very nice mean? In the late 80s, volleyball was a big deal at UofI and there were tiers of groups and players. Most of the time, the players in a higher tier would not play pickup games with other tiers. Tony was one of the few players from the upper tiers who would join...

Dear Yelda, It is hard to absorb that Tony is no longer with us. To so many of us, he was helpful, funny, cheerful, and patient. He was a great guy, and I miss him. Harold Diamond

Tony will be missed. He was a large part of our lunch bunch for so many years and I will treasure the memories of our conversations. My condolences for your loss Yelda.

I have so many wonderful memories with Tony from our time at U of I and beyond. Condolences to the family and everyone who knew him. He'll be missed.
