Anthony J. Najjar

Anthony J. Najjar, 90, Pawtucket and formerly of Cumberland, passed away February 9, 2021 at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Annette (Asermely) Najjar for 63 years. He was the son of the late Samuel and Hilda (Macharra) Najjar. Tony was a resident of Cumberland for most of his life.

He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving as staff sergeant and receiving the Purple Heart. Tony was the former owner, along with his brother, of Shur-Az Janitorial before he retired. He was the father of Lynn Soares, of Cumberland, Mona Waters of Pawtucket, and the late Samuel Anthony Najjar. He was the brother of Ann Tetreault, Joseph Najjar, and the late Col. Alphonse Najjar. Anthony also leaves 4 grandchildren, 3 great grandsons and many nieces and nephews.

A Liturgy of Christian Burial in Saint Basil The Great Church and burial with military honors in Saint Basil’s Cemetery were private. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Basil building fund, 111 Cross Street, Central Falls, RI, 02863, in memory of Tony, would be greatly appreciated.
