Sold, but Not on the Car
When Mary Gola walked into the Westbury Mazda dealership eight years ago, she knew which salesman she wanted: Anthony Perez. Six feet tall with dark Latin looks, he was exceedingly handsome. The trouble was, he knew less about Mazdas than she did.

Mischievously, Ms. Gola peppered him with requests for features she knew did not exist. Mr. Perez (who was helping out a friend that week) assured her he could meet her demands.

Needless to say, he failed to sell her a car. He did persuade her to join him for coffee and — the following year — to marry him.

Mazdas, it turned out, were about the only gap in Mr. Perez's storehouse of practical knowledge. He could wire a house, solder a pipe, and paint and spackle like a pro. When it came to computers, he was a whiz. Each of his three children had a state-of-the-art model assembled from castoff hardware that Mr. Perez, 33, a computer specialist at Cantor Fitzgerald, brought to his home in Locust Valley, on Long Island, from the office on the 103rd floor of 1 World Trade Center.

"Sometimes I got jealous of the computers," said Mrs. Perez. "He loved fiddling with them."

Not sure what to say?

I had worked with Anthony at the Optimum Online startup Dept. in the 360 Bldg. in Woodbury, we shared an evening shift on New Years Eve. I think of that as every year passes. Wonderful co-worker, very helpful. Miss your laughter and smile.

Why today are you demanding attention? You were in my dreams last night and as I sit recovering from major back surgery, I wonder if its your way of checking in on ME to see HOW I AM.. Well, buddy.. Im finally having more better days than bad ones. Finding strength when I want to give up. Maybe that is my lesson or message from you. Ill take it. I still miss you and always will. Keep finding me in my dreams. I miss your smile and wicked sense of humor. Love you Anthony.

We send our deepest thoughts of sympathy to your family. May God continue to give the strength needed to cope. Tony is still missed so much and is not forgotten.

Another year has passed, its been 18 years since the devastating attack.

Although, I never met you, I did ride with you 2011 for the 911 ride. I always think of you & your family.
