Entered Eternal Life on September 8, 2016, at the age of 90. Resident of Mequon, former longtime resident of Whitefish Bay. Beloved husband for 60 years of the late Joann Rood. Loving father of Robin Walker and Robert (Jean Pulito) Rood. Dear brother-in-law of the late Charles (Doris) Moeller. Uncle of Betsy Martin, Polly Wolf, and Charlene (David) Hubble. Great uncle of Ben, Heidi, and Shawnda. Further survived by other relatives and dear friends.
Tony was born in Dallas, TX and later moved to Racine, WI with his parents, Anthony and Sarah Rood. He was a graduate of UW-Madison, and was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. After serving his country in WWII, he graduated from UW-Madison Law School. Tony served as First Vice President of First Wisconsin Trust Co. and as Past President of the Arthritis Foundation of WI. His memberships included the State Bar of WI, Milwaukee Curling Club, University Club, Ozaukee Country Club, and Whitefish Bay Methodist Church. He will be deeply missed by his family and all whose lives he touched.
Visitation will take place at the Feerick Funeral Home on Saturday, September 17, from 11:00AM-1:00PM, followed by a service at 1:00PM. Interment at Wisconsin Memorial Park will be private for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Tony's name may be made to Stars and Stripes Honor Flight, P.O. Robin and Robert, I am sorry to hear of the loss of your father. I remember him as kind and generous. We were always felt welcomed in his house. You are in my thoughts.
