Not sure what to say?

We remember Andy and Rhodie as a unit. They were our first friends as a newly wed couple at Columbia. We were neighbors at 720 W 170th and shared a lot-including the birth of. Young Andy. We saw one another rarely after Columbia but always cherished the friendship and memories. Keith and Mary Wrigley

I remember Anthony from Med School (P&S'70).. He was always smiling, supportive and a delight to work with, despite the craziness of med school. He was an inspiration to all of us !/ Tony Pepe P&S'70

John Mannick was the Chief, and Andy was the recently-minted junior vascular surgeon at the Brigham during my '81-'82 fellowship. Those two surgeon really gave me the core skills that formed my career as a surgeon. Andy had the skills, certainly, but it was also his common sense, his kindness and his humor that made him a great mentor. He was an excellent clinician, but also he had humility and charm. I got to know Andy when we both were attending the Governor's Academy (aka GDA). We become great friends there. We sang together in a group we called the Three Fifths. I spent the summer after we graduated living with Andy and his family in Cohasset as our group played at various functions in the Boston area. Andy tried to teach me to sail, but to no avail. We attended each others weddings, and I remember visiting Rhodie...

I was piss ant surgical resident in 1982, when the every other night call schedule was brutal. Andy was the Residency Director. The job was what it was ... but Andy was one of the few attendings who would stop you and ask you if you were ok, Andy: Hail Fellow... Well Met

Andy was the consummate gentleman, scholar, sailor, parent and surgeon. His friendship meant a lot to me. Bless the journey of his soul in Eternity. Jeb Hallett, MD

I retired as an RN from BWH in 2017 after 40 years I worked with Andy and loved and highly respected him. I was so grateful to him for his role in helping settle our contentious contract negotiations in `06/07. He was a wonderful human being and a great doctor! Peggy White RN,MSN

I grew up with Andy in elementary school and junior high until he went to private school; he was so cute, smart, and friendly. Our paths didn´t pass again until he came to a Cohasset HS reunion a few years ago; he was handsome, Chief of Surgery at B&W and very friendly. His message to all there: if you need any medical help or advice, contact me; I held that message close for the two years my husband was at Dana Farber and Brigham for leukemia. He had great treatment and care and I didn´t...
