Anthy G. Tartsa

MANCHESTER - Anthy (Gregorios) Tartsa, 94, of Manchester, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2017, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Manchester on Oct. 18, 1922, the daughter of Vasil and Pelagia (Mourkas) Gregorios. She was a lifelong resident of Manchester, was educated in the local school system and was a graduate of Central High School, Class of 1940.

Anthy's life was devoted to her family, friends and church. She was a longtime member of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral and also a member of the NOA Auxiliary, the Daughters of Penelope and the AHEPA. She loved volunteering to serve at the annual Glendi Festival. She found pleasure in knitting and sewing activities. She will be fondly remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Robert P. Tartsa, in 1989.

Members of her family include her son, Alexander Tartsa, and his wife, Carolyn, of Manchester; her two daughters, JoAnn O'Shaughnessy and her husband, Michael, of Hampton and Pamela Warren and her husband, Bradley, of Lunenburg, Mass.; her seven grandchildren, Christopher Tartsa and his wife, Andrea, Benjamin Tartsa, Atty. Gregory O'Shaughnessy and his wife, Lori; Atty. James O'Shaughnessy and his wife, Amy; Anthony O'Shaughnessy (her namesake), Taylor Marie Warren and Bradley Warren Jr.; and her six great-grandchildren.

SERVICES: Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 10, from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 650 Hanover St., Manchester, N.H., followed immediately by a funeral service at 11 a.m. in the church. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Anthy's name be made to St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
