CHARDOUL, Antigone (Anne) - Of Flint, age 95, died peacefully at her home on Sunday, June 25, 2006. Funeral service will be held at 11AM Thursday, June 29, 2006 at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, G-3170 West Beecher Road in Flint, Reverend Father Ignatios Achlioptas and Father James Bogdan officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation 2-8PM Wednesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Mrs. Chardoul was born on Samos Island in Greece on May 3, 1911. She married the love of her life, Nickolas Chardoul in Detroit in 1933 and he preceded her in death in 1977. To her three children, she imparted her love of reading, world-wide travel and of music, especially opera. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Eugene N. Chardoul, M.D. and wife Nan Ruth of Grand Blanc, Paul N. Chardoul and wife Connie of Grand Rapids; daughter, Marianne and husband John Mair III of Flint; grandchildren, Susanne (Ted) Johnson of Edwards, Colorado, Christian (Mandy) Chardoul of Rockford, Michigan, Stephanie Chardoul and husband McCabe Ash of Ann Arbor, Nicole Chardoul and husband Joe Lovett of Ann Arbor, Pauline (Eric) Chardoul-Sutter of Seattle, Washington, Anne-Elise Mair of Petoskey and John Matthew (Maria) Mair of Grand Blanc; great-grandchildren, Camille Josephine Johnson and Charlotte Antigone Johnson, Zoe Charlotte Ash and Evan Nicholas Ash, Belzora Elizabeth Lovett and Stratos Paul Chardoul-Sutter; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Chardoul was a member of FIA, FIM, St. Cecilia Society, the International Institute, CARE, Current Book Club, Philoptochos Society at Assumption and Garland Street Literary Club. She leaves behind a legacy of love.
