Anton Rey, age 84, of Macomb, died Sunday, January 28, 2007, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital of Macomb. He was born November 6, 1922, in Newark, Ohio.
Mr. Rey spent much of his childhood in Detroit, Michigan. He was educated at George Washington Tech and then served in the US Army. Mr. Rey settled in the Detroit area where he raised his family. He was the proud owner and president of Shop Tools, Inc. His family described him as a man who liked good conversation, had a generous heart that especially loved race cars, boats, fishing, and auctions.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; daughters, Linda (Leon) Toomey of Lansing, Bonnie (Samuel) Phillips of Clinton Twp. and Linda (Rohn) Elsner of San Marcos, California; sons, Michael, William (Dianna) Rey of Garland, Texas and Terry (Betty) Rey of Warren; former wives, Helen and Molly; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sons, John and Bruce (Debbie) Rey: daughter Betty Jane; brother, John (Blanche) Rey and parents, John and Helen Rey.
Visitation is 2pm-9pm Thursday at Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Rd., Fraser. Services will be held 11am Friday at the funeral home followed by a ceremony at the final resting place at Cadillac Memorial Gardens in Clinton Twp.
