Antonio "Nick" Appezzato, 81, of Scotch Plains, died on Friday, February 7, 2014 at Overlook Hospital. The Funeral will begin on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at St. Bartholomew's the Apostle Church in Scotch Plains at 10:15am. A Funeral Mass will be said at 10:30am. The Visitation will be held on Monday, February 10, 2014 at the Rossi Funeral Home, 1937 Westfield Ave. Scotch Plains, NJ 07076 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.

Nick was born and raised in Scotch Plains, NJ. He served in the Korean War. He worked for the Township of Scotch Plains in the Public Works Dept. for 21 years before retiring in 1998. Nick was a dedicated family man. He spent his life loving and caring for his family. He was a kind friend to all.

Nick is survived by his beloved wife Mary; his loving three daughters Liz and Roe, Carol and Brian, and Nancy and Bruno; his caring sister Jennie; and his six cherished grandchildren Nicole, Molly, Melissa, Jake, Reilly, and Dylan.

Uncle Nicky was a wonderful man who had a smile for everyone. We will all miss him terribly. I know his spirit lives on in the wonderful close knit family he cherished so much. We have all been blessed to know him and love him. I wish you all strength and comfort.

I was fortunate to have not only a loving uncle but also had the great pleasure of working with him Rest in Peace Uncle Nicky you will be sadly missed.
