Owens and Brumley Funeral Home - Wichita Falls Obituary

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Antonio Felipe Martinez, who passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at the age of 63.

Antonio was born on December 21, 1957, in Caltimacan Tasquillo, Hidalgo Mexico, to mother, Maria Magdalena Bermudes Martinez. The oldest of six sons, Antonio didn’t have the opportunity for much formal education. At the age of 15 he came to the United States to begin working, so that he could provide for his mother and brothers back home. He learned to work hard and take on whatever job was available to support himself. He traveled to many places until his daughter was born and he set his roots down in Childress, Tx. He began working for Robert and Betty Holman as a farmhand. This was his favorite job of all. He enjoyed working on the land, but most importantly he began to build a relationship with Mr. and Mrs. Holman who treated him as family throughout the years.

He was a kind and loving partner to his spouse Candida, as well as an amazing father to their daughter, Elena. But most importantly, he was the best grandfather to his grandchildren, Karlee and Zack.

Antonio will be forever remembered as a strong man with gentle eyes, caring heart, loving embrace and unconditional love. Although our hearts are heavy. We will celebrate his life and find comfort that he is in heaven watching over us.

The family will receive friends between 5 and 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2021 in the chapel of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home with Pastor Ismael Ortiz, officiating.  Interment will follow at Rosemont Cemetery under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls.
