Hawthorne Funeral Home - Mount Vernon Obituary

In loving memory of Antonio De Jesus Mata

July 19, 1989- June 1, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Antonio De Jesus, affectionately known as Tony, who left us far too soon on June 1, 2025, at the age of 35.

Tony brought joy, laughter, and light to everyone around him. He was a dedicated and hardworking man, passionate about his contributions to landscaping projects. With his big smile and generous spirit, Tony showed kindness to everyone he met. He took great pride in helping others, always placing their needs before his own. Tony also showed great humility, never hesitating to apologize when he was wrong, teaching us the value of owning our mistakes with grace. Above all, he taught us the true meaning of family and the importance of showing up for one another

He is survived by his daughter, Anizah, parents, Dionicia and Vicente; his siblings, Alexis, Hasmin, Michael, Jesse, Vince, Junior, Fabiola, and Elly. Tony’s legacy of humor and laughter will live on in the lives he touched.

A private ceremony will be held with close family and friends.

Not sure what to say?

Tony was a student in my classroom at Bay View Elementary School. He was a sweet kid that liked to feel that accomplishment of completing his work - whatever the task. He was liked by other students as he was kind and helpful. I have good memories of Tony and his quick smile.

Tony was a solid dude. He was really respectful and helpful, at first I didn't think that was really how he was, but after getting to know him I realized he was that good of a person. It was a pleasure to know him.

Tone: travel well my man! Your loved.

Nothing can replace you but love will fill the place you left behind and that will be with us forever..your big smile we will always remember..you will never be forgotten..

That's a good dude right there man... R.I.P homie its your boy chino from 35th

I never knew Tony or his family. I´m reading this obit online and I just wanted to say this is tragic, I don´t know the circumstances surrounding this person but it doesn´t matter, 35 is far too young to leave a family, a daughter, parents. My heart breaks for this family and I am so incredibly sorry for your loss, the world will never be the same for those who knew Tony......nor should it ever be the same. Stay strong keep his memory and legacy alive, ask for support reach out to loved ones...

You are in the arms of our Lord, may your light shine bright in the sky.

Tony your gentle spirit always shone and will now be a shining light in the sky rest in peace mijo

Always seen you around and you were always smiling. Always had our small conversations. You are going to be missed
