Aquil Abdur-Rasheed

As Salaam Alaikum Sis. Hafeezah and sons. I attended high school w/bro. Aquil. Saddened to learn of his passing. I was in the process of contacting him to do a story on him for a local black newspaper I write for but I waited too long. Insha'Allah you all will be fine. Our masjid, the Islamic Center of Dothan, Inc., made dua' for him upon learning of his death. Take care. May you accept the comfort that only Allah Ta'ala can give.

I would like to extend my sincere condolences to the Abdur-Rasheed Family during this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers and with you all.

Mr. Abdur-Rasheed you will be missed by everyone. Eventhough, I just met you about 2 years ago, I felt like I've known you all of my life. You were like a second father to me. Thanks for all of the advice on finding a job. I know I will get one soon. One thing I can say is, "Thanks for Bilal"! I promise I will take care of your son. My prayers are with your family for strength to carry on. I was a classmate of Abdur-Rasheed at Tuskegee University. My niece Bettina Byrd Giles in Birmingham, met him and admired him so much. They used to talk about the world afaires.

I also worked with Aquil at Home Insurance many years ago. He was a kind and gentle soul who was admired and respected by everyone who worked with him. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I spent many hours with Aquil when I worked at RED Distribution just chatting the day away. He was a very kind man. I will miss him dearly. My thoughts are with him and his family.
