Arkadiy "Arky" Zhovkliy, 47, went home to be with the Lord on November 9, 2018 due to a brain aneurysm. Arkadiy lived in Granby, CT with his loving wife Irina (of 20 years) and his lovely children Mark, 9, Matthew, 4, and Mia, 1.

Arkadiy was born in Perebrody, Ukraine. He immigrated to United States in 1994.

He was a skilled and hardworking builder. He especially loved challenging, unique, and custom projects be it frame, finish, or anything in-between.

Arkadiy had a great burden for those who are needy. He helped all that asked of him. He always welcomed guests and relatives, often treating them to some light snacks when they arrived unannounced.

Above all, Arkadiy was absolutely devoted to his wife and children. He was a father who always involved himself in every detail of his children's lives and supported and loved his wife unconditionally. He was a man of strong faith, believing in the power and strength of Jesus Christ's love and intervention in the life of his family.

Besides his wife and children, he is survived by his mother, 7 brothers, and 1 sister and their families.

He will be dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is reunited with his father in the presence of their Creator.

A funeral service is scheduled at 7 pm on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Full Gospel Church, 110 Union Street, Westfield, MA 01085. Burial service will begin at the same location at 11 am on Friday, November 16, 2018 followed by a procession to the burial grounds with reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Arkadiy's life. Prayers, condolences and memories are gladly appreciated.

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.

I had the pleasure of meeting Arky several times while working at the Vantine residence in east canaan. His work
was superb, and his knowledge of carpentry was very impressive. He was the kind of person you wish you could spend more time on the job with. My heart and prayers go out to his wife, family and friends. A true gentleman in
every sense of the word. God bless.

We will always remember Arky as a warm, generous and thoughtful man who was ready and eager to help others. We will miss him terribly, but we will carry his charitable, Christian example in our hearts and, as best we can, show similar charity and Christian example to others in his memory. Our loss is lessened by our certainty that he now rests in peace with the Lord.

Unforgettable, wonderful Arky. My heart goes out to Irina and Mark, Matthew and baby Mia for this enormous loss Arky was goodness through and through. I met hime about twenty years ago and he restored Jill's barn beautifully. Since then he has taken care of my house and repaired, rebuilt, restored and replaced anything and everything that needed to be done. Wherever I look, his work can be seen.
I remember when Irina and he came over to show baby Mark and how happy and proud he was....

We are heartbroken to hear of Arky's passing. Our deepest condolences go to his family. We were fond of Arky and we will have ever lasting memories of him due to the master craftsmanship he added to our home. Shelly & I will miss him.

I am sorry for your loss. Arkadiy has wonderful energy; I am so sad to hear this. I am thinking about Arkadiy, and about Irina, Mark, Matthew and Mia.

Very sorry for your loss. I spent spurts of time working along side Arkadiy and his brother Vlad; it was an education in hard work and humility.

I am heartbroken to hear of the passing of Mr. Zhovkliy. I had his son in school. Prayers for Irina, Mark, Matthew & Mia in the days and weeks to come.

Bill, John, Mia and I are all so sad and send our deepest condolences to all of Arkys wonderful family. Arky has been such a huge part of our lives since we got to know him almost 17 years ago. We adored him and will remember all the wonderful things he taught to us over the years. He was so happy and proud of all his beautiful family and he radiated his love of them. We will miss him terribly. We feel so fortunate to have spent so much time together and will cherish our memories and...
