To Cal, Deb and Brian, My heart is full to overflowing at this news in the Christmas letter. She was my roommate in college and my good friend from then on. I share your sorrow and will miss my Nessie so much.

Often thinking of you during this difficult period. Be sure I will be with you and Arlene in thoughts at her life celebration in a few days. I was saddened to learn of my cousin Arlene's passing. Being one of the "youngest" cousins, I've enjoyed Arlene's e-mails sharing lots of family stories and photos the last few years. We often talked about her and Cal's trip to Norway. I'm so glad we were able to meet in Centralia for lunch the last couple of years when my cousin, Elsa (Berg) Fjaervik, was visiting from Norway. Those were fun times. Arlene will be missed by all of us in our family. My deepest sympathy to Cal, Brian, Debbie...

Arlene was like a mother to me and a grandmother to my daughter. I feel blessed to have had her as a neighbor for over 20 years. I can still hear her joyful laughter.

Cal and family, I read a lovely tribute to your wife and mother. She affected so many lives in your area. She will be missed.
