Not sure what to say?

I met Arlene, actually Mrs. Havel to me, when I taught Stephanie and Derek at Notre Dame Academy. She was an involved parent and always wanted to make the school a better place for her children and those to come. She spent hours working in the school library. I enjoyed chatting with her. She radiated warmth and positivity. Both Stephanie and Derek were delightful students and certainly a tribute to her. After they graduated, I would see Arlene in the neighborhood. Those visits were pleasant...

I am so sorry to hear of Arlene´s passing. Although through a number of years my times with Arlene were short, professional in nature, I will always remember a kind beautiful lady.

Dear Richard, deep sense of loss at this news and feeling of sympathy for you, and all of your family, whose lives were launched, touched and enhanced by Arlene's love and motherhood. My hope is that your grieving will turn, in time, to a deserved celebration of this very special and beautiful person who life was an example to all who knew her. With Love, Jack

In 1963, I moved to Santa Monica from Phoenix. I loved attending St. Monica´s High School where I first met both Arlene and Richard. Arlene´s bright, welcoming smile was what I remember most about meeting her for the first time. It was a wonderful senior year with friends who always made me feel welcome. After graduation, I left for college in Northern California. Thanks to a web page designed by classmate, Bill Diebold, for a class reunion, I was able to reconnect with Arlene, Richard and...

Arlene was one of a kind. Her kindness, generosity, intelligence, and joy enriched me, and, I suspect all that knew her. Heartfelt condolences to Richard, Stephanie, Derek and the rest of her wonderful family. The Beard family.

Arlene was so beautiful inside and out!! She absolutely lit up rooms by her smile and lovely presence. Her family will always be in my prayers!

Arlene was beautiful in so many ways. We became friends in High School (St. Monica's). She always had a smile on her face and was a great listener in serious conversations. She was a loyal friend to all of us...and the perfect hostess. She loved Richard and their life together and their beautiful children. They always came first in her life. I moved from California over thirty years ago, so didn't have a chance to see her often, but when I did she was always gracious, fun and really smart....

Deepest condolences to Richard, Derek and family, Stephanie and family. We are so sorry for your loss of a wonderful wife, Mom, grandmother and friend. I will always remember with fondness the times we got to see Arlene when she was visiting Idaho, especially the mother and daughter lunch we shared many years ago when the stars aligned where Stephanie and I were lucky enough to have both our Mom´s visiting us at the same time. May all the beautiful memories of Arlene in time bring you peace

So sorry Rich, words are unable to express both Ellen and my thoughts of the loss of Arlene. Prayers for her and the family. Bruno Tonin- class of 64 Ellen Tonin - class of 66
