Armando "Mickey" Henriquez Jr.

My sister, brother, and I all had the great privilege of being in Mr. Henriquez's English classes in the 1950's and 60's at John Jay High School. His passion for and deep understanding of literature were only surpassed by his commitment to young people and teaching. I know that my lifelong love of reading and writing was nurtured and flourished in his classes. He was a solid and caring teacher. I am sorry knowing that he has left the world, but glad that so many could benefit from knowing...

To the family, I have fond memories of the Henriquez family in Katonah, NY. Mickey and Martha were one time neighbors and good friends of my parents. I know he will be remembered fondly by many in Katonah and at John Jay High School. My condolences. Mary Hanley
