Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home - Spearman Obituary

Armida Borunda-Tarango, 57, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 22, 2017, in Spearman, Texas.

Rosary will be held on Friday, June 23rd at 7:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spearman, TX.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 24th at 2:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Burial will follow at Hansford Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.

Armida was born on October 13, 1959 in Babonoyaba, Chihuahua, Mexico to Abdon Borunda and Nicolasa Hernandez.  She married Salomon Tarango on February 14, 1975 and called Spearman her home for the past 35 years. Armida was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for 35 years and involved with the Guadalupanas for 20 years.  She also served as a CCD teacher for 30 years.

Armida is preceded in death by her parents, Abdon Borunda and Nicolasa Hernandez Borunda, a daughter, Ana Patricia Tarango, and two brothers, Monce Borunda and Pancho Borunda.

Armida is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Salomon Tarango.  She is lovingly remembered by her, son, Jose Tarango and spouse Sylvia Tarango, daughter, Lisa Munoz and spouse Gerardo Munoz, and son, Luis Tarango, six grandchildren, Mari Tarango, Ezequiel Munoz, Celeste Tarango, Pepito Tarango, Paty Munoz, and Nicky Tarango.  She is also survived by four brothers, Manuel Borunda (Mexico), Abdon Borunda (Spearman), Rafael Borunda (Gruver) Javier Borunda (Gruver) and one sister, Josefina Borunda (Mexico) and serval nephews and nieces.

Armida was a loving mother, devoted wife and caregiver.  She dedicated her life to taking care of her children and grandchildren.  She was a comfort and joy to those that knew her and always gave all she had to those that she loved.  Selfless and kind, she worked hard to enrich the lives of those around her, even when times were hard.  Armida will be remembered fondly in the hearts of all her friends and family as someone who was always there when they needed it most and who always offered a safe, loving presence to all she knew.

Memorial donations in memory of Armida can be made to Hansford County Circle of Friends and Hansford Hospice.
