Read MoreI am saddened to hear this and unfortunately just found out. Dr. Sutherland was a great inspiration to me at HCC. He encouraged me to finish my degree at FSC which I did. He was a great man who loved his family and believed in the power of a good education. He was one of the fairest people I have ever met. May God bless and comfort his family.

Dr. Sutherland is the only professor I remember from my days at FSC from 1984. He was so intersted in his students and their lives and was so friendly to us to all of us. I still think of things he taught me at FSC in Western Civ class and I don't even like hitstory.
