Not sure what to say?

I know Arnie passed over 5 years ago but I wanted to write here: I worked with Arnie during his years at the Northeast Regional Center for the Department of Education. We laughed together worked together and truly enjoyed each other's company in spite of a 32 year difference in our ages. I stayed with Arnie and Shirley when I ran a workshop for students at the MLK Elementary School. A gem of a human!

Our family deeply appreciates all of the memories you have shared.

Aunt Shirley, Jimmy, Nancy, Ronni and Louise,
I was just told by Barry Shulman of Uncle Arnie's passing. I am so sorry. Aunt Shirley I hope you know how special you and Uncle Arnie were to me and the entire family. The many picnics with the Berger, Cooper, and Frank families are memories that will always be so vivid and dear to me, although always being stuck at the "kids" table was a bit rough :). Aunt Shirley I still make your special crust for your apple and blueberry pie. You're...

Dear Shirley and family,

Sorry to hear about my History Teacher,
Baseball Coach and Friend has passed away.
I will always remember Arnie as giving me
more confidence. This has helped me throughout my life.

It was a great thrill to be a member of his
Championship Baseball Team of 1955.

Arnie will certainly be missed.

Sincerely

Frank Ponto

My sincere condolences. I loved Arnie and his stories when he joined our lunches @ Jacobs and Forward. We missed him when he moved to Florida!

Shirley and family,

Barbara and I send you our sincere condolences on Arnie's passing. He was not only a wonderful coach and teacher, he touched so many lives because of his genuine interest and caring for people. He was of immense help to me when I was great need of it, introducing me to Warren Frank and helping me get the job that financed a portion of my college education.

So, in a large way, Arnie was responsible for adding yet another attorney to the massive roster of such...

Arnold Berger was a superb educator, intellectually stimulating as few other teachers were in the conventional fifties. He encouraged questions and comments on the concerns and contemporary issues that he covered in his classes.
When most teachers dared not do so, Mr. Berger had the courage to challenge the extremist views prevalent during the blacklisting era. In his classroom he made clear his own democratic convictions, and he encouraged his students to consider these concepts....

Shirley and family,
Our sincere condolences to you all at this time. I always called him "Mr. Berger" but to Dave and all the team, he was "Coach".
There was never a get together of the guys that "Coach" stories weren't told, especially the city champs of '55. We are
so glad we were able to visit with you when Dave moved to Daytona Beach after our
wedding.
He was a wonderful friend, coach, teacher and role model.
Sincerely,
Bunny and Dave Landers
