Arnold J. Nugent, age 88, a native of New Orleans, and a resident of Slidell, Louisiana, for over 25 years, passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, in Slidell.


Arnold is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Lorraine Cristoforo Nugent; four children, David A. Nugent (Michelle), Bryan Nugent, Chris Nugent (Kathy), Bruce Nugent (Wendy); two brothers, Clarence Nugent (Karen), Gerald Nugent (Beverly); two sisters, Evelyn Hudson, Catherine Marsh; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; in-law, Veronica Nugent; Godchild, Gail Albaral (Larry); nieces, nephews, and other relatives.


He was preceded in death by two brothers, William Nugent, Earl Nugent; two sisters, Lillian McCarthy, Rosalie Rodriguez.


Arnold was born on a Saturday, August 13, 1932, in New Orleans, to Arnold Nugent and Lillian Babin Nugent.


Arnold was a graduate of St. Aloysius High School and Loyola University.  He served as


A Sergeant in the U.S. Army.


Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 910 Crossgates Blvd, Slidell Louisiana.


Visitation will begin at 10:00am followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00am.


In lieu of flowers, the family requests Masses in his name or donations to Alzheimer’s Association.
