Remembering Rabbi Sher "Arnie" Family Friends B´nai Israel Cong.

Arnie was the rabbi who was present at my Bar Mitzvah, confirmation, and wedding (travelling to Atlanta). He also came to Georgia to install me as rabbi at Temple Beth David. He was my mentor in the rabbinate when I was a congregant at B'nai Israel, a student at Hebrew Union College, and a congregational rabbi. He placed me in fact at two congregations-in Marrietta GA and East Lansing MI. We met at the Pike Diner in Fairfeild many times, as well as at conventions over the years. Arnie was...

He was my favorite rabbi at B´Nai Israel when he started there in 1968. May he rest in peace

What a good guy! Arnie and I went to law school together. So many good memories and a few sad ones through the years. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Serena. John and I are so very sorry for your loss With our deepest sympathy Thinking of you and your family Honey and John blank

Terry and I have known Arnie and the Brav family since the late 1950s in Cincinnati and dear Serena in more recent decades. Warm and wise, honest and humane, loyal and lovable, Arnie supported me personally and rabbinically in countless ways. I shall always remember when I had a medical emergency in NYC and Arnie not only accompanied me to the ER but remained with me the entire day. A chaver in the fullest sense of that word. And what a blessing Serena has been to Arnie. Y'hi zichro Baruch.

Rabbi Sher performed his first and, perhaps only, interfaith marriage, bringing together my bride and me 57 years ago. He was special. That marriage enabled us to build a family, including two fabulous children and six grandchildren. We remain forever grateful....

Arnie believed in me when I did not believe in myself. Arnie gave me advice I didn´t want to hear...and he was right and I wish to this day, two score and four years later, that I had simply taken his advice. And Arnie was full of mischief, and no-nonsense when it counted...the direction of his heart and his common sense a north star. I will always be grateful for Arnie Sher. Sent with a heavy and grateful heart,
