Not sure what to say?

Arthur indeed had a genuine smile and joy in life. Diana, piano faculty ant the university, and I were once invited for one of the finest duck dinners I´ve ever enjoyed. After dinner, I´m not sure how she nor I managed to offer a rendition of the Brahms Sonata on his beautiful piano, but we did. And his art emanated his joy, blossoming into the depth and space of his canvas. But what I recall was his inner sense of joy.

We met Arthur in Ouray, Colorado when he stayed at our bed and breakfast. Instantly, we were friends. He returned again and our friendship strengthened and we kept in touch. in about 2010 we stayed overnight with him in Torrey -- it was one of my life gifts. Geraniums on the window stills, chicken broasting in the oven, artwork, and most of all his humor and conversation. He made Mexican Hot Chocolate the next morning and he and I sat wrapped in blankets on the edge of his property...

We met Arthur in Torrey on our 2012 family road trip around the Western US States. It was a brief but mutualy very enriching encounter. He invited us to his place where we enjoyed his wit and good humour. Reminscing about our trip nearly 10 years after, checking his name online we stumbled over this orbituary. We're sad to not have been able to meet again. Goodbye Arthur!

We met Arthur by chance at a Utah dentist's office a few years ago, and we then became Christmas letter friends. We are so very sorry to hear that Arthur is no longer with us. He was one of a kind, and we are grateful to have known him. He made the world a much better place.

For quite some time now I had attempted to get hold of Arthur only to discover he passed away last March.

I am heartbroken.

I met Arthur at Weber State in the fall of 1977. He was a friend and mentor, who had a deep sense of appreciation for nature and a refined sensitivity to the fine arts. He took me under his wing, and we remained friends over the years. He taught me many things about life, and art history.

At his core Arthur was an educator and artist...
