Arthur “Archie” E. Archambault, 75, of Davis Street, Attleboro, a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother passed peacefully on Monday, July 7, 2008 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the beloved husband of fifty-one years to Theresa M. (Brillon) Archambault.
Born in Fall River on June 13, 1933, Archie was a son of the late Arthur F. and Rhea (Desmarais) Archambault. He was raised and educated in Fall River and was a graduate of the former Monsignor Provost High School in Fall River. During the Korean War, Archie served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army in the 1766 Radio Operations Company, 304th Signal BN. He was inducted on May 11, 1953 and was honorably discharged on April 29, 1955. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, the United Nations Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
Mr. Archambault was employed as a plant manager for over fifty years at the Bruce Diamond Corporation in Attleboro until formally retiring in 1995. Following retirement, Archie continued to work at the plant on a part-time basis several days each week.
Family and faith were the staples of Archie’s life. A devote communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Attleboro, Archie served as a Eucharistic Minister and as a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society.
He was an avid golfer, bowled in the winter months each Thursday evening at North Bowl Lanes in North Attleboro, enjoyed playing cards and years ago was a founding member and a past scout master of Troop #37 in Attleboro. Archie enjoyed life and was devoted to his wife, sons and grandsons.
In addition to his beloved wife, Theresa, Archie is survived by two sons: Michael J. Archambault and his wife Susan of North Attleboro and Steven E. Archambault of Taunton; two beloved grandsons: Michael A. Archambault of North Attleboro and Steven D. Archambault of Attleboro; two brothers: Paul Archambault and Roger Archambault, both of Fall River; and several nieces and nephews. He was the loving brother of the late Estelle Bernier, Fernand, Louis and Robert Archambault.
Family and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, July 10, 2008 from 4 PM – 8 PM in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro. A funeral will be conducted on Friday, July 11, 2008 at 9 AM from the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, 208 South Main Street, Attleboro. Mr. Archambault will be laid to rest with full military honors recognizing his honorable service during the Korean War in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Dodgeville.
Following committal services and invitation is extended for all to return with the family to St. Joseph’s Church Hall for a time of continued friendship and fellowship.

To Mrs. Archambault and the entire family. Archie touched and helped mold so many young lives. I knew him as Mr. Archambault, Scoutmaster of Troop 37 in Attleboro. He was a leader and a friend to us all. Although it's been 30 years since we last spoke, I still fondly remember him, his leadership and his guidance. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I'm sorry I couldn't attend the calling hours as I am "On Duty". Was quite shocked when I read the paper. It was a pleasure to have known him all these years. He will be missed.

The pain of loss never really goes away but over time the good memories help ease the hurt.
