Arthur Beren

Chuck and I built Arthur's Beverly Hills Kushins store. I have very fond memories of this wonderful gentleman!

I had the pleasure of working for Mr. Beren, starting at the Oakland store! Also worked at El Cerrito, and then I chose to come to Salinas where I´ve come to call home! I can still remember Mr. Baren coming into the store, getting on the landline, carrying on a conversation, but keeping an eye on the floor! He was a class act! I am so sorry for the loss of this icon. I met Arthur on a flight back from southern California several years ago. He was there visiting a sick friend. Arthur was one of the kindest, most authentic people I have ever met. He was so warm and sincere and had not pretension in spite of his great success. He warmly invited me to come to Arthur Beren shoes sometime and his passion for this family business was palpable. I am grateful to have made his acquintence. Love and prayers to his family.

David, Ann, and Rick, I just saw this obituary and learned that your Dad had passed in June. I wanted to inform him that my mom, Doris Reiner, passed yesterday. She too, will be at Home of Eternity. You may remember that our parents were life long friends, having met at Berkeley.
