Arthur R. Boos, 92, of 15434 110th Ave., Chippewa Falls, town of Eagle Point, died Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 18, 1919 in Tilden, the son of Rudolph and Mary (Boos) Boos. He attended St. Charles School in Chippewa Falls for 8 years and 2 years at Chippewa Falls Vocational School. Art married Eulalia "Lalie" Geissler on November 25, 1941 at St. Charles Church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the 3rd Armored Spearhead Division from 1942 to 1946 in France and Germany. Art was a member of Notre Dame Church and the Knights of Columbus Goldsmith Council #974. He farmed in the town of Eagle Point while also working at Gutknecht's Meat Market for over 50 years and National Presto Industries. Together they shared 70 years of marriage and had 8 children, 6 sons, two daughters and 25 grandchildren. They are: Art (Donna) of Baldwin and their children, Kelly, Holly, Joy, Danny, Charles and Deanna; Tad (Becky) of New Hartford, Iowa and their children, Jodi, Ryan, Brandy and Devin; Donna (Roy Roddey) of Bloomer and their children, Lisa and David; Vicki (Mike Korger) of Chippewa Falls and their children, Matt, Luke, Melissa, Christopher, Elizabeth and Paul; Steve (Rhonda) Boos of Bloomer and their children, Robyn and Steve; Andy (Lynette) of Chippewa Falls and their daughter, Danielle; Chuck (Laura) of Eau Claire and their daughters, Amanda and Leah; and Dan (Tammy) of Chippewa Falls and their children, Jerrod and Andrea; He also has 54 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He is also survived by: one sister, Alvera Korn and sister-in-law, Sylvia Boos both of Chippewa Falls. He loved his cat, Kitty. He was preceded in death by: daughter-in-law, Kathy Boos; his parents; two sisters, Sylvia (Cliff) Goulet and Margie (Edward) Geissler; sister-in-law, Maida (Edmund) Geissler and three brothers-in-law, Milton Zenner, Leonard Korn, and Elmer Boos; grandson, Devin Boos; and great granddaughter, Sydney Blake. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 31, at Notre Dame Church in Chippewa Falls. Rev. Mark Pierce will be celebrant of the funeral Mass. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Chippewa Falls. Military rites will be conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 30 and until 10 a.m. Saturday at the Horan Funeral Home in Chippewa Falls. The Knights of Columbus Goldsmith Council #974 will recite the rosary at 4 p.m. and there will be a Christian Vigil Service at 7:30 p.m. both on Friday at the funeral home. He loved painting, roofing, gardening, fishing and woodworking. He also loved holding babies. He would help anybody out at the drop of a hat.
