Not sure what to say?

Dear Gretchen, Rachel & Emily
We just learned of Art's passing and are saddened by it. We wish you and all your family peace during this trying period and beyond. Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

I was saddened to hear of Art's passing. He was my colleague for many years, and we worked cases together on occasion. He was a great guy and an excellent lawyer. My sympathies to the family.

Even in seventh grade everyone loved it when Art "came out to play." We wanted to sit at his lunch table. He married my sister and I married his brother, so I know it was true until he died, that he could tell a great story and his sense of humor could make you lose your dignity. I will miss watching Art and my husband pull accents and personalities from the air, and Art singing into a beer bottle mic. I want more time to coax Art out to play, and I want his salmon recipe.

I always wanted to meet Art. I did not know him but Iam a Claflin and maybe now I can look back in my Big book and find out how we are related. Iam sure we are somehow. My sympathy goes out to the family and prayers to all the family. Marlene Claflin Ross Couch from Hawaii. I live here now

What I will remember most about Art was his smile. I will also remember his love for Gretchen. It has been many years now since we were all together at Bogle and Gates. We were young, worked hard and had great fun. We are so sorry to hear about his passing and our best to Gretchen and the girls. Marilyn and Dean Messmer

We are sad to hear of Art's death. Our thoughts and best wishes are with you.

Art was a true pleasure to be around. Art was quiet when he wanted, and wonderfully witty and insightful when he spoke. I can't suppress a smile as I think of him now. His passing is a loss to us all. /Cory Carlson

Dear Rachel and Emily,

I am shocked and saddened by Art's passing. I greatly appreciated his work on The Northwest School Board and often sought his counsel.
