ARTHUR DEVERILL

To me, he will forever be "LTC Deverill"; and to him I will be always indebted.

LTC [at the time] Deverill and I were transferred to Dalat, capital of Tuyen Duc Province RVN, in Dec 1967 to replace officers who had been killed by a mysterious new VC unit. Six weeks later, Tet 1968, we learned Why. As the Advisory Team Chief, Deverill calmly led us thru a period of great tension, danger and tragedy.

Art was a Warm and great neighbor, who invited me to one of his bridge classes. Just a delightful man.

It can be so hard to face the first year without your loved one, but the love of family and friends can carry you through.

Art was the most gracious,kind and pleasant person. He was beloved by all of our Wednesday bridge group at Wakefield Senior Center. He will never be forgotten!

We will miss Art, who graced our monthly Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 227 membership meetings with his presence.

Art was a genuine, witty, and kind man who always made you feel better about your day. It was always nice seeing him and his "gang" as we called it, on Monday night's for half priced burgers. My heat is broken but I know he is in a better place. My heartfelt condolences to his wonderful family, and thank you for bringing him in making our day brighter!
