Daniel K. Regan Funeral Home - Montrose Obituary

Arthur C. Doolittle, 81, of Kingsley passed away peacefully at home on August 10, 2022.  Born March 25, 1941 in Uniondale to the late Cletus and Thelma (Rynearson) Doolittle.

Surviving is his wife of 36 years, Karen (Benedict) Doolittle; children Patty (Don) Hill, Arthur Jr. (Lisa), Vincent (Jan), Eric (Katherine), Stephanie (Kevin) Bandru, Kenna (Chris) Bennett, Mike (Beth) Folmar, 17 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, siblings Thelma Wright, Dolores Carra, Jim (Jane) Doolittle and brother in law Joseph Tomazin; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Cletus “Buddy” and William and sisters Bernadette Slick and Julia Thomazin.

As a young adult he enjoyed small game hunting and trapping. After graduating from Johnson Technical School, he started his career at Proctor and Gamble where he retired after 30 years as a machinist. A survivor of polio, he never let his limitations slow him down. He was admired for his strong work ethic that he instilled in his children. He was a longtime member of the Masonic lodge Hartford #445 where he served as grand master. He had many interests including western movies, metalworking, welding, leather crafting, and woodworking. Building the family home was one of the many woodworking projects he enjoyed. He also loved spending time with his family and friends. His big personality will be greatly missed by all.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at traditional home health and hospice for their care and compassion.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at the First Universalist Church in Brooklyn, PA, with Rev. Alan Jagger, Hop Bottom, PA, officiating. Visitation will be on Monday from 6-8 p.m. with a Masonic Service at 7:30 p.m. at the Daniel K. Regan Funeral Home, Montrose, PA. The family requests that those attending please wear a mask.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Masonic lodge Hartford #445.
