Not sure what to say?

I had the privilege of interviewing Arthur a few years ago for a story on his basketball invention for The Basketball Times.

He was kind, patient with my questions and entertaining recalling his experiences in creating an important -- and lasting -- part of basketball history. I hope his prototype found a good home, as he asked me not long after we spoke if I could help him find a home for it.

I just wanted to reach out to you, his family, and to anyone reading, because I was...

As the person who drove my family from the refugee camp in Arkansas to our home in Virden, Art became family from Day 1. So sorry we could not be there to pay our respects. He was a wonderful man and deeply loved.

I am so sorry for your loss. It was such a pleasure to visit with him and hear his stories, when we were having breakfast at Dave and Roses' a few months ago. It was a blessing to meet him and your family.

Our sympathy to your family. Arthur was such a joy when he came here for treatment. Your basketball fans at OSCI.

Sorry to hear of Art's passing. It was nice Chuck & I sat in the tent with Art & Mary during Rt. 66 week-end, Art showing his basketball hoop. I carried the hoop to car for them, he said he would repay me in Heaven someday. So he's there doing for others now. Great guy, known him since we started farming long ago..........Judy & Chuck Foster
