WEST FALMOUTH — Arthur "Roger" Gonsalves Jr., age 22, of West Falmouth, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010.

He is the loving son of Arthur Roger Gonsalves and Marianne (Walsh) Gonsalves.

Born in Boston, he was a lifelong resident of Falmouth and a graduate of Bishop Stang High School in Dartmouth. He attended Fitchburg State College and the Massachusetts Maritime Academy in Bourne.

Roger worked as a conductor for the Mass. Bay Commuter Rail for the past one and a half years.

Besides his parents, he leaves a sister, Katherine Gonsalves of West Falmouth; a special aunt, Maureen Walsh of Deerfield; and many other aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visiting hours will be on Sunday, Jan. 10, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 584 W. Falmouth Highway (Route 28A), WEST FALMOUTH. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 11, at St. Anthony's Church 167 E. Falmouth Highway (Route 28), East Falmouth. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Gifford Street, Falmouth.
