Not sure what to say?

Mr Grannis was not only a kind and beautiful soul but a very caring and friendly person. I remember one day after class someone asked him if he would ever give someone 100 for a gpa? Well he looked......and smiled.....laughed and said NO. We all laughed and he explained that there was SOMETHING in him ( or with the person ) that would cause him NOT to give that 100. Rest in peace sir.........I'll always remember you and that day.

Coach Grannis wrote a nice recommendation letter for me when I entered college. He was a nice man and a good coach. He was an integral part of my high school life , running track and cross country for Curtis all four years. May he Rest In Peace.

RIP Artie, you will be miss

Everyone who lived in West Brighton and went to PS 45 was friends with one of the Grannis kids.I never had him in Curtis but knew that he was an admired teacher.

To my friends Paul, Jim, Dave and John. My deepest condolences to you all and also to Artie's entire family. Growing up in P.S.45 school yard it was special to see Artie walk through the gate...a mountain of a man then and throughout his time with us all.

Mr Grannis was my Italian Teacher from 78 to 82 at Curtis High School I was the youngest of my Brother Vinne an Sister Angela. He was a Great Man Who taught me alot Iam sorry to see this and I like to tell his Family that he was a great inspiration to me. Eddie Calla Rest in Peace

Paul, I'm so sorry about Artie. Unfortunately, having had surgery, I won't be able to attend the memorial service tonight. My deepest condolences to you and your family. As per family's request, we will be donating to the basketball fund. I will contact you at a later date.
Sincerely, Gregg Culley

I graduated from Curtis HS in 1969; our group of old friends met Arthur Grannis in Spanish class 50 years ago, and we still remember him fondly. Though serious about teaching, he could be playful, even zany. He was clearly a man of many parts, talented and motivated. He drilled us on vocabulary every day, and it served me well, in places like Panama, even decades later.
Mr. Grannis was strict about his quizzes, yet trusted us to be honest: When time was up, you had to put your pen down,...

My Homeroom Teacher sophomore year. Grannis was a quiet man who always had a knack for caring and being funny. One time it snowed and he threw snowballs from the ledge of the window at the students. Random, maybe. But any discussions that we had he always was so informed.
RIP.
