Not sure what to say?

Although I didn't know you, I honor you for your service to our country. I too am from the West Side of Steelton. I served in the Navy from 1961 to 1991. I am humbled by your sacrifice to keep our country free. I'm glad for the closure this brings to your family. Duty, honor, country.

Dear Uncle Arthur (Captain Halfpapp);

You and my grandmother, Mary Halfpapp O'Neal from Yocumtown (Etters) were brother and sister, and very close. She even named her son after you, Arthur O'Neal. My grandma talked about you with pride and admiration all through my life. Mary had 6 children: Arlene Payne, Judy Goodyear, Peggy Maxwell, Rev. Ken O'Neal, Arthur O'Neal, and Bob O'Neal. They were also your nieces and nephews. My mother and I would go to my grandma O'Neals house often,...

Welcome home Captain. Thank you for serving your country and may you rest in peace.

Welcome home. Rest in peace; a grateful nation honors you.

Our uncle "Captain Arthur E Halfpapp" has been brought home after 70 years missing in action. He was survived by six sisters and many, many nephews and nieces. All of the Halfpapp family appreciate the sacrifice our uncle made and we thank those in Italy who found our uncle and sent him home to us.

You inspired Dad to become a US Marine. We were delighted to learn that our Italian friends found your P-47 awhile back. It is with great pride that we welcome you home tomorrow and I finally get to meet you. You served your country well. We are grateful for your...
