Arthur Horowitz Obituary
Arthur Horowitz, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on May 19, 2014. Born in New York on December 9, 1930 to Asneth and Sam Michael Horowitz, he moved to Scottsdale in 1980. Arthur was a graduate of James Monroe High School in The Bronx, New York, and Brooklyn College of Pharmacy. He was a registered pharmacist in New York, Missouri, Colorado, and Arizona, where he retired in 2002. He was a member of Har Zion and member of Shomrei Torah, Temple Beth Emeth, and the Arizona Pharmaceutical Society. As a lifelong ice hockey player and fan, he managed the Valley Hockey Organization for many years and played in senior ice hockey tournaments in Santa Rosa, California, as well as Burnaby, Nanaimo, Victoria, Parksville, Kamloops, Vernon, and Calgary in Canada. He was also a volunteer literacy tutor at Hohokam, Yavapai, and Pueblo Elementary Schools. He is survived by his loving wife, Renee; sons David Robert Horowitz (Lorraine) and Steven Jay Horowitz; and granddaughter, Alexis Horowitz. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Shomrei Torah or Temple Beth Emeth. Forever in our hearts.

Arthur was always a very active man with a smile on his face when he pedaled around the neighborhood.(He always wore his helmet).We were so pleased he and Renee were able to attend our Cinco de Mayo celebration-our condolences go to Renee and the family members. Tom and Sally

We always enjoyed visiting with Mr. Horowitz. He entertained us with his stories, and brightened our day with his smiles. He will be remembered fondly and greatly missed.

I met him briefly for the past several years when he would attend Beth Joseph Congregation. His smile was infectious. I instantly became his "friend".
