Not sure what to say?

Dear Chickie, Julie, Marie, Kathy & Michael,

We just love Archie. The Howard and McDermott families were joined together by two of the most wonderful young Boston Firefighters, Archie and Bill, who are now together again. When I think back to how many years we have known each other, way back to when Julie and I attended grade school at Sacred Heart. We will cherish our memories of Archie and we will miss him. We will always be there for you. We are family and we love...

Archie, my fathers best friend, My partner in every Mcdermott golf tournament.

the kindest, most generous man that i am proud to have known my entire life.

To the Howard Family: Mary and I truly empathize with your loss. We are available for anything that you need and we're at your beck and call. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Arthur and Chickie have been our friends since we moved into the complex over 11 years ago. We love Arthur, Chickie and their wonderful family. Arthur was very involved in trying to make the complex a better place for everyone. Whether he saw the issue of the day as you did or not, he was always respectful of your opinion and everyone respected Arthur. He handled his illness with great dignity and strength. My wife and I would time and time again throughout out the years catch ourselves...

I wish to express my concerns and sympathies to the combined families of Arthur J. Howard. I am a colleague of his grand daughter, Leela, and understand how important Mr. Howard was to her growing up.

I offer the family my prayers, thoughts and emotional support at this time.

To: Chickie,Julie,Marie,Mike and Kathy. The memories of time spent with Arthur will last a lifetime, he was a true treasure, a great friend, and an almost father in law. Archie will be missed, but we are all better for having known him. I will keep Archie and all of you in my prayers.

Mr. Howard,
Sir, I didn't know you but I would just like to say thank you for your years of dedicated service and sacrifice-first for our Country when you served in the USCG during the Korean War and secondly for the citizens of Boston when you served in the BFD. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Semper Paratus!

May the good Lord put his arms around you during this time of sorrow. Arthur and I were on the same ship in the Coast Guard together(The Matagorda) and we both wanted to get on the fire dept. I am a retired Lt. From Cambridge and have been retired for near 20 years. Arthur was a good friend and we had a lot in common including as a friend "Tom Goodwin"(retired BFD). Keep your faith up and be strong. God bless you all.
