Ruggiero Funeral Home, LLC - Pen Argyl Obituary

Arthur E. Lee, 90, of Pen Argyl, last residing at Renaissance Home, Forks Township, passed away, Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Bethlehem.

Born in Bangor, PA, March 23, 1935, he was the son of the late Russell J. and Blanche (Bonney) Lee.

Arthur was a 1953 graduate of Bangor Area High School and honorably served his country in the US Marine Corp during the Korean War. In his later years, he participated in honoring US Veterans as part of 21-gun salute teams.

He was employed as a vertical lathe operator for Ingersoll Rand for 32 1⁄2 years, served as a part-time Police Officer for Pen Argyl Borough for 19 years, and following retirement, he worked for Slate Belt Pharmacy, delivering medications.

A member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Pen Argyl, he sang in the choir, served on the Property Committee, designed the Bell Tower, and enjoyed church socials over the years.

Arthur will be remembered as a good, gentle, kind man, of many talents and interests. He had a passion for riding motorcycles, especially BMW’s, over many years of his life. A talented artist - drawings, paintings, sculptures, wood-carvings - he created unique pieces for others to enjoy. Arthur shared stories about growing up in Bangor, to boot camp at Paris Island; he worked in his garage on varied automotive projects, enjoyed deer season, home-cooked foods, fresh apples, vanilla desserts, vacationing, reading daily news and books, and more. Arthur cherished time spent with Janet (Dietz), his wife of nearly 68 years. A proud father of four daughters, he’s been a positive influence on his extended family, as well as anyone who had the pleasure of spending time with him.

Surviving are daughters: Debbie Lee Field (Ken) of Plainfield Township, Tammy Lee Pritchard (Rick) of San Tan Valley, AZ, Michelle C. Curcio (Michael A.) of Wind Gap, and Lori Lee LaPenna (Fred) of Upper Mt. Bethel Township; nine grandchildren: Jess Field, Casey Field (Mallory), Ashley Koontz (Dave), Allison Pritchard, Alexandra Pritchard, Christina Crahall (Eric), Anthony Curcio (Emily), Lena LaPenna, and Joey LaPenna; six great-grandchildren: Wyatt Field, Lily Koontz, Bradyn Koontz, Abigail, Grace, and Stella Crahall, and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife Janet, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Josh Field and a sister, Betty Riccio.

Funeral services will be held, Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 11 AM, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 12 N. Westbrook Avenue, Pen Argyl. There will be a viewing beginning at 10 AM until time of the services at church. Interment with Military Honors will be at Fairview Cemetery, Pen Argyl.
